Overview- Week of 5/1/18
As a class, we participate in two to three read alouds a week. During this time, we work on different reading skills- theme, summarizing, main idea, point of view, etc. Students also have independent reading time each day. In addition, we practice our reading comprehension skills with different warm-ups and activities throughout the week.
On Mondays, we complete a journal entry in our writing notebook. We will be focusing on creating unique and authentic writing ideas for the last few weeks of school. We are also working on a memory book project.
Students are encouraged to read 15-20 minutes at home each night.
